Reviewed on tripadvisor, by Julia from San Francisco, USA, In our recent Europe tour, Barcelona was first on our list. You can walk to the monastery, where there is still a community of 70 monks that live there. Barcelona Guide Bureau has a simple booking online system and we made a reservation at the last minute, a day before the trip, which was very convenient. The Escolania children’s choir sings in the evening on school dates from Monday to Thursday, together with Montserrat monks. I would recommend this tour! The tour is only in English making it easier for you to follow the whole story. The tour itself was an hours drive from Barcelona (so it said) but due to the traffic it probably only gave us about an hour 40 there and the queues in the Monastary itself (if you wanted to touch the Madonna) also took away from the time you were there. The cost was 47 Euro's each & the meet up point was across the square outside the Deushe Bank @ 3pm. Once in Montserrat the guide will accompany you to the hotel, where you will check in and meet the guide about an hour later. You can see two of Gaudí's most celebrated works on this guided tour. Lastly the Monserrat touched me spiritually And I will never forget this trip. “Lovely time exploring beyond Barcelona” 5/5 stars.
